Richardson

Richardson is a city in Dallas and Collin counties in north Texas. Richardson is home to the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Known as the Telecom Corridor, with a high concentration of telecommunications companies, approximately 5,000 businesses have operations within Richardson.

Known for outstanding schools, and picturesque neighborhoods, many of the world's largest telecommunications and networking companies area based in the Richardson area.  Names like AT&T, Verizon, Cisco Systems, Samsung, ZTE, MetroPCS, Texas Instruments, Qorvo, and Fujitsu help support the community and the residents.  A large employment base is also provided by the insurance industry, with headquarters for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, a regional hub for GEICO, regional offices for United Healthcare, and one of State Farm Insurance's three national regional hubs is located in the community.

Richardson has multiple Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail stations, the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts & Corporate Presentations, and Galatyn Park urban center with a 2-acre public pedestrian plaza, a luxury hotel, and mixed-use development.

The City of Richardson Parks & Recreation Department produces some of the country’s top rated and most anticipated events including the Cottonwood Arts Festival, one of the most prestigious fine art festivals in the United States; and the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, a three day award-winning celebration of eclectic arts & music for the North Texas region. The festivals draw people both local and throughout the U.S.
